Marriage has always been a significant and joyous milestone in life. It is a rare and precious thing for two people in love to commit to respecting and caring for each other, building a home together, and journeying through life side-by-side. While finding the right partner is one challenge, maintaining a healthy marriage is another. The daily realities of life—chores, bills, and minor disagreements—can naturally lead to occasional disputes for any couple.
Interestingly, aside from personal factors, the home environment can also influence the relationship between spouses. Certain aspects of your living space, in particular, are worth paying attention to.
1. Problematic Color Schemes
While pink is often associated with romance, it is not ideal as a dominant color in home decor. Using pink extensively on walls, for furniture, or in curtains is best avoided. This color can subconsciously induce emotional instability and anxiety. Over time, this may make couples more prone to arguments.
Similarly, avoid overly dark and gloomy color palettes. These can make the home feel oppressive and dark, potentially fostering a negative and heavy atmosphere.
2. The Bedroom Setup: Bed and Photos
In Feng Shui principles, placing the head of the bed against a solid wall and hanging your wedding photo on that wall is believed to promote stability and strengthen the marital bond, bringing happiness and fulfillment.
However, it is crucial not to place the wedding photo on the right side of the bed (when lying in it). This position is considered the “White Tiger” area, and placing the photo there is thought to create conflict. Additionally, ensure no overhead beam runs across the wall above the bed, as this is said to cause restlessness, irritability, and lead to more frequent quarrels.
3. Sharp Corners Pointing at the Bed
The bedroom is a place of rest and rejuvenation. If there are too many sharp-edged objects in the room, or if any sharp corners from furniture or decor are directly pointing towards the bed, it can cause the couple to become overly critical and prone to fixating on minor issues. This environment can lead to incessant bickering and disagreements.
