Feng Shui Approaches for Addressing Challenges with Conception

In daily life, some loving couples with normal sexual activity struggle with conception for many years, often without clear medical answers after consulting various doctors. If there is a diagnosed physiological deficiency in one or both partners, medical intervention is the necessary path. However, when physiological causes have been ruled out, the study of traditional practices like the I Ching has collected and summarized some effective, specialized methods for resolution.

General Resolution Methods

  1. The Eggshell Method: Use the shell of a red-shelled egg (with the egg white and yolk removed). Fill it with three large dates (Chinese red jujubes) and place it under the bed. After twenty days, remove it, burn it to ashes, and take the ashes with wine.
    • Additional Support: Acquire a pair of Chinese zodiac animal figurines that are considered beneficial for fertility and place them on the headboard of your bedroom bed. These figurines should be consecrated. Underneath the figurines, place a pair of chopsticks. This arrangement acts as a homophone for “快子” (kuài zi), symbolizing a wish for “a speedy child.”
  2. Daily Incense: Light incense daily to maintain a consistent offering and spiritual presence.
  3. Lifestyle Adjustment: If the female partner has a larger body frame, losing weight is strongly recommended, as this may improve the conditions for conception.

Bazi (Eight Characters) Resolution Methods

This approach requires knowledge of Bazi (Four Pillars of Destiny) analysis. The principle is straightforward: analyze the astrological reasons within the couple’s Bazi charts that may hinder conception, and then address these specific reasons using the Five Elements theory to adjust the home’s Feng Shui.

1. Remedying Imbalances of Heat, Cold, Dampness, and Dryness

  • If the Female’s Bazi is overly “Dry/Hot”: This is associated with difficulty conceiving or maintaining a pregnancy (miscarriage). The remedy involves introducing cooling and hydrating elements.
    • Actions: Take frequent baths, use cool/blue color tones in the home and clothing, consume cool foods and drinks (e.g., cold beverages), and reduce intake of high-protein and rich meats.
  • If the Female’s Bazi is overly “Cold”: The approach is to warm and nourish the body.
    • Actions: Consume warm-natured foods like soybeans and soybean sprouts, and avoid cold-natured foods. Consulting a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner for herbal formulas is also recommended.

2. Remedying a “Weakened or Absent Child Star” in the Bazi

This method directly strengthens the elemental quality of the “Children Star” in the chart. Using specially designated consecrated ornaments of the twelve zodiac animals corresponding to the missing element is considered highly effective.

  • For example, if the Child Star element is Metal, use Monkey or Rooster ornaments.
  • The same logic applies to the other elements (use the corresponding animals listed in the section below).

3. Remedying a “Child Star” that is “Restrained or Attacked”

This method involves reinforcing the “pass-through” element that resolves the conflict.

  • For instance, if the Child Star is Metal being attacked by Fire, Earth is needed to mediate (as Fire creates Earth, and Earth creates Metal). Place the zodiac animals corresponding to the pass-through element in the relevant area of the living room or bedroom.
If the Required Pass-Through Element Is:Place These Zodiac Animals:
EarthDog, Ox, Dragon, Goat
MetalMonkey, Rooster
WaterPig, Rat
WoodRabbit, Tiger
FireHorse, Snake

Note: All zodiac figurines used in these methods must be consecrated.

The methods outlined above are relatively simple and practical. Of course, numerous other advanced techniques exist. If the methods described here do not yield results, one may then consider more comprehensive adjustments, such as modifying the ancestral grave Feng Shui or conducting a major overhaul of the home’s layout.
